Facebook has updated the business page layout once again – cue moaning and groaning. But, overall, all of the changes are great and I think you’ll be impressed with the new streamlined design. Page are more consistent with your personal profiles and all status updates appear to the left of the page which is my fave update. I wasn’t sure why certain things appeared to the right or left in the past. You have until April 2, 2014 to update your page. After that, all pages will update automatically.
Welcome to Your Updated Facebook Business Page
Now you can quickly see what’s new, and more easily find the tools you need to engage with your audience.
Options: Do This Later or Update Now (Your page will automatically be updated to the new format on April 2, 2014 so you might as well do this now)
Everything you need to manage your Page is in these four tabs.
The page administration section is no longer a big rectangular box that always appears at the top of your page. Instead, tabs appear above the Cover Photo: Page, Activity, Insights and Settings. Overall, this is a nice, clean change.
The Most Important Things
See upfront the most important information you need to know about your Facebook Business Page.
On the right hand side of the page, there is a new vertical column that shows the number of ads currently running, new page likes, post reach, unread notifications and messages. I like this change.
A Simpler Page Timeline
Your posts are now in one column on the right. Other important content like your contact information is on the left.
Can I just say that I love this change? You can easily view the star rating and which of your friends like the page, and it’s easy to invite people to like the page as well. The map and contact information is easy to view which is a HUGE change. You can also see apps and pictures below the map.
