Do you manage your law firm’s Facebook Page? Are you scratching your head like me wondering WTF is going on? I’m writing this post for you (and me). I’m annoyed about the update, but I’ve learned that Facebook always wins so we have to deal with it. The plus side is that Facebook Business Pages are now ad free.
Your profile picture appears at the top left of your Facebook Business Page above the new navigation section. The good news is your profile picture won’t cover your cover photo anymore. According to the Search Engine Journal, your Facebook Profile picture size remains the same at 170 x 170 pixels.
An updated navigation section appears underneath your profile picture. All of your previous “tabs” will appear here. For example, my new navigation section consists of: Home, About, Events, Twitter, Services, Newsletter, Instagram, Photos, Likes, Videos, Notes, Posts, and YouTube.
You may need to update your cover photo to compensate for your profile picture not covering it anymore (I am doing that tonight). It remains the same size at 828 x 315 pixels.
Contact Us or Call-To-Action Button
The call-to-action button is prominently displayed underneath your cover photo to the right. As you know, you can update the button to say Book Now, Sign Up, Watch Video, etc.
I use Canva to create all my video thumbnails but they haven’t updated their sizes yet. I’m using 1080 x 1080 pixels for custom video thumbnails and it’s working well.
There is probably a lot more that has changed but this is the most important to date. I will write a follow-up post with other changes soon.
