Do you know about the new Sections Area on your LinkedIn Profile?

I just noticed a new feature on my LinkedIn profile called “sections”.  It promises to reflect my achievements and experience prominently on my profile.  Have you added this to your profile yet?

Maybe everyone in the United States has access to this feature already but this is the first time I’ve seen it in Canada.  I feel it is my duty as The Social Media Reporter for The Online Guys to share.

Once you click the ” + Add Sections” link you are taken to a menu where you can add sections such as Certifications, Languages, Patents (interesting for the IP industry), Publications and Skills.  You can also add Applications such as Box.net Files and Google Presentations.

I work for an Intellectual Property Law Firm and see promise in the patents section for research purposes.  The other sections aren’t that “new” and might already be listed in your summary.  How about you? What do you think?

Only just noticed it today after returning to New York from IBA conference in your city. I noted they invited suggestions for further additions.

Thank you for your comment. I attended a session at the IBA on the Rule of Law. It was great – did you attend as well?
