LinkedIn announced its first earnings (Q2 2011) today, beating Wall Street expectations in its first quarter as a public company. Here are some highlights:
- Members grew to 115.8 million, an increase of 61%
- Unique visitors of 81.8 million per month, an increase of 83%
- Page views of 7.1 billion, and increase of 80%
- Revenue was $121.0 million, and increase of 120%
This is great news for LinkedIn. Steve Sordello of LinkedIn had this to say,
“Going forward, we plan to continue to invest in our team, technology, and products in order to increase the value we deliver to members and realize the full potential of the LinkedIn platform.”
We’re sure to see some new features in the upcoming months. I’m really enjoying the new profile layout as well. Have you seen it yet? What do you think?
I’m also thoroughly impressed with the amount of engagement I’m seeing via LinkedIn status updates. Just today I had a thought provoking conversation about Morrison Foerster’s controversial nickname “mofo” and their original website design, with two fellow law firm business development coordinators via a status update.
How are you enjoying LinkedIn so far? And has it proved to be useful in your business development activities?
