LinkedIn wants you to ”Help Build the Professional Web” by embedding some of these Facebook-like features in your website or blog. These plugins include:
- Sign in with LinkedIn
- Member Profile
- Full Member Profile
- Company Profile
- Company Insider
I added the share button to MBM’s Canada IP Blog here and it was very simple. MBM’s blog is hosted on Blogger so I simply pasted the following code:
in to the html template after data:post.body/ and hit save. Done. I will be checking the analytics to see if this increases traffic to the blog and website.
The only plugin I haven’t played with yet is “Sign in with LinkedIn”. It’s a little trickier than most but I’m sure a couple of hours of reading would fix that. Overall I’m quite impressed with LinkedIn. I think using these tools will be appealing to those who shy away from Facebook due to its perceived personal nature.
These widgets will be great for people with engaged, large LinkedIn networks. LinkedIn has also promised they are coming up with more stuff soon so stay tuned!
Get up to date on how to add these new features over on the Linkedin Developer site here.
